The Middle is Always Evil

I am an Objectivist.

I believe that values are objective, determined by the observable facts of an equally objective reality. I believe that the standard of the good is determined, not by the whims of God, society, or one’s own conscience, but by what is objectively of value to man’s life, and that the purpose of his life is his own happiness. I believe that man must never sacrifice his values for any person, people, or thing; I reject the morality of altruism.

I am a Capitalist.

I believe in the supreme rights of the individual: that each man should be left free to live and to act in whatever way his conscience dictates, so long as he does not initiate the use of force on another; I believe that the only proper role of government is the protection these rights against all forms of aggression. I reject the notion that a man can make a justifiable claim on another man’s life.
