Last night, Sarah Palin gave what was by all accounts an excellent speech.

This is a woman who, in the last week, has been the target of multiple, scurrilous attacks. The left wing press has made her into a pariah, a target upon which it can unload all of its hatred for conservatism. Much has been said, and it has been roundly speculated that McCain’s vetting process was anything but thorough. But between Palin and Barack Obama, can there be any question as to whose record has been more carefully examined by the media– by the American public?

Briefly consider the following facts, and ask yourself how many times you’ve heard about them in the mainstream press:

Obama, a black man, is a former member of a church that endorses Black Liberation Theology, a faith that believes that Christianity teaches us to free the “oppressed” through redistributing the wealth– the oppressed, in this case, being everyone who is black; this is a church that he attended for twenty years.

While visiting his father’s homeland, Kenya, in 2004, Obama met with and campaigned on behalf of fellow Lou tribesman and openly socialist Ralia Odinga, who is now the Prime Minister of Kenya.

Obama is a known associate of William Ayers, unrepentant domestic terrorist directly responsible for bombings on both the Capitol Building and the Pentagon; it is in that man’s home where Obama held his political coming-out party in 1995, when he first announced his candidacy for State Senator of Illinois.

Many are familiar with Barack Obama as a “community organizer,” but few seem to know what work he did specifically; Obama worked for the Developing Communities Project of the Calumet Community Religious Conference in Chicago, organizations based around the principles of the Communist writer, Saul Alinsky. Alinsky wrote a book called Rules for Radicals, which Obama says he read in college in his autobiography, The Audacity of Hope. Considered by many to be the Bible of bloodless socialist revolution, Rules for Radicals surely had an effect on the just-out-of-college Obama, considering that he went to work for organizations dedicated to the principles that were laid out in it. Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, recently said to the Boston Globe:

“Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

“I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.”

According to Alinsky, Obama has learned his lesson well. What lesson, and from whom? The answer: how to affect “Change” as taught by an avowed Communist. This is how Obama earned his stripes– organizing.

When Barack Obama, the man who may quite possibly be the next Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, is free from the intense scrutiny that has been given to Sarah Palin’s seventeen year-old daughter’s romantic life, something is not right.

You’ve got to be kidding. You’re not honestly flogging this Obama is a Communist thing, are you? You do realize that the 50’s are over? Maybe we should give you a break. From your photo stage right, we know you’re just a kid. Don’t they teach about Joseph McCarthy in boarding schools anymore?

I guess it’s ironic that you bring “socialism” up in your post. If you are concerned about such things in this race, you should be paying more attention to things Sarah Palin has actually done in office.

Like going after more federal earmarks per capita than any other state in the union.

Like supporting federal funding for the “Bridge to Nowhere”, and then blocking construction when it got bad press, while saying she wouldn’t let Alaskan funds be used for such Alaskan infrastructure projects. Instead of returning the federal funds (our tax dollars), she kept the money and used them for other things.

Like her lobbying efforts working for discredited Alaskan senator Ted Stevens. That’s where she learned her politics. It was all about taking our tax dollars and passing them out to “her people”.

Like her windfall profits tax on oil companies, which she has used to give Alaskans cash for “energy rebates”. That’s income redistribution, plain and simple.

No wonder she is so popular… in Alaska.

While I wish Senator McCarthy were alive to give us his impression of Obama, I must admit that merge divide does have a point about Palin’s “energy rebates”, which should have gone back to the oil companies if anybody.

That said, I wish that McCain would come out tonight and remind us of all these things about Obama. I hope McCain runs the most negative campaign in history; telling the truth about Obama will win more people over than offering his own program for Change.

  3.   merge divide Says:

Calling Sarah Palin the “libertarian choice” is absolutely ludicrous.

-energy rebates for Alaskans paid from corporate profits
    -rabid anti-choice stance
    -pork-barrel queen
    -wants to ban library books
    -abstinence-only sex education

Since when did these become “objectivist” values?

You’re correct on all the issues except the bit about “benefits for same-sex couples”. See here.

Let me make one thing clear: this post had nothing to do with the merits or demerits of Sarah Palin; I wouldn’t attempt to make the argument that she is perfect in any respect.

This post has everything to do with the media’s refusal to even mention Obama’s radical associations and non existent record— while they endlessly cover Sarah Palin’s daughter and family.

Whether or not Sarah Palin has a socialist has nothing to do with this post, and whether or not I am red baiting is up to you– I think McCarthy was a great American.

Why is this blog entitled “Putting Things in Perspective: The Vetting of Sarah Palin” but says very little about Palin at all. It’s just another bashing an individual in a manner in which you earlier condemn. Seriously, why must you hate that with which you disagree? Why can’t you simply disagree? For some reason, you find it imperative to have contempt for someone with whom you disagree.

Give me something of substance–not more of the same sophomoric rant that I can get from anyone else who needs to blame someone for this state of the Union.

Your blog reads like a witch hunt.

And the above folks forgot the RNC smear machine trying to caste Obama as a secret Muslim as documented here:

Also, lose the tie. Makes you look really dorky – unless you mean to be ironic.

  12.   Kevin Says:

I guess you were born last week, in which case I could understand you not remembering the past 18 months of the democratic primaries, where I learned all that you mentioned already. I mean, the fact that you can regurgitate that info is evidence we’ve already talked about it. No one even heard of Palin before last week, except MAYBE Alaskans, (<.2% of US pop.)

  13.   anonymous Says:

No presidential race has ever been decided by a vice presidential candidate, so why are you comparing a VP canididate to a Presidential candidate. Palin is a corrupt politician which is just what we need in Washington, another corrupt politician.

  14.   Joe Says:

Issues, only address issues. It is patently unfair and pergative to mention character when discussing Barak.

    Ok – Issues

    He’s a socialist
    He’s for abortion
    He’s against free market capatalism
    He’s against out military
He really is against the idea of free men owning guns
    He’s against patriotism
He loves our enemies and dislikes and undercuts our military and police.
He goes to church where the predominate theology is african liberation and a virulent hatred of our nation and beliefs
He makes clear his forced minimal support of Israel, and he wants to sit down and talk with Irans lunatics who say the holocast never happened.
Hamas, al qaueda, hesbolah all think barak hussein is just the ticket.
You can be sure welfare and taxes will increase.

But I shall not mention his character.

  15.   jay Says:

    my dear poor joe,
those are not the issues. those are no more than the rants of a racist non-patriot. anyone can categorically prove each of those points as simple lies.

if mccain were here, he would take the mic from you; he would call you a liar too. you would be one of those freaks that can’t control yourself and ends up yelling “kill him” and give the liberal media more firepower, saying that mccain followers are ignorant people.

after reading what you wrote, i believe you are ignorant.

what are you going to do if obama wins? are you going to leave the country? are you escalate your words into actions? no, because then you would be a terrorist. you will probably sit and stew about how wrong america is. but you won’t leave, because there is no conviction behind your words. moreso, what are you going to do in three or four years if obama is a successful president? are you going to bow your head and say you were wrong? i doubt it. you are just going to find something else to complain about.

understand this, i am a mccain supporter. but i will not stand idle as you rant this nonsense about patriotism. as i am a patriot, proven by my eleven years as a US Marine, and another two years of federal service, and another three years creating tools for the military to use, i am offended by your words. i have served in war, and i have had to kill for my country.

joe, you are not a patriot. you are a complainer. and you disgust me.

    Jay,

As I was cut-and-pasting this address from my e-mail notification I was dreading having to go through Joe’s ridiculous bitch list point-by-point. It’s becoming drudgery having to confront melodramatic wingnut after wingnut. I appreciate very much that you saved me the time of having to confront another batch of nonsense. Thank you, sir. I am in your debt.
